Horseback Long Riding Explained

Horseback Long Riding Explained

Dreams of adventure are just that, why not take the next step and make the REAL!
One of the greatest challenges anyone new too long riding faces, will be learning to separate “cool stories” from actually useful information. Many people will offer you advice, and many “self-proclaimed experts” advised both us, and many of our closest friends prior to setting off on horseback adventures. This often second hand, or outdated information caused us and those in similar situations many unnecessary failures that could have easily been avoided by a bit first-hand knowledge and advice. Having made so many mistakes personally, Luísa and Peteaim to help others avoid making their own through up to date, relevant, and first hand experiences learned the hard way.

Having covered countless miles across some 40 countries on horseback surviving, extreme weather, freezing temperatures, wolves, bears, wild dogs, prairie pirates, questionable border crossings, nearby armed conflicts and crazy horses Luísa and Pete are still hungry for more adventure.

This 8-part course, made up of some 40 videos averaging 10 – 15mins each is designed to inspire others to take a journey of their own, regardless of what that may be. It is in short… everything Luísa and Pete wished they knew prior to their travels together. Pete spent years prior to meeting Luísa preparing, only to learn more in his first month on the road with than he had in the 2 years prior! Filmed over the course of 8 years in some 30 countries, it is arguably the only course of its kind to feature such unique footage and first hand opinions.

Why This Course?
Well… because this stuff just can’t be learnt around the barn. In order to understand how hard long distance travel on horseback is, you MUST cover many thousands of miles CONTINUOSLY as the damage you may be causing on short rides just doesn’t show. Life on horseback teaches hard lessons, and having learned these in person, Luísaand Pete would love to help steer others away from easily avoidable failure’s that only thousands of miles will make apparent.

The course loosely follows the book “Horseback Long Riding Explained” written by Pete with input from over 50 current long riders, and is HEAVILY focused on the ethical treatment of equines, and honest self-evaluation rather than just blind encouragement.

What You’ll Learn:

  2. How to evaluate the ethical carrying capacity of a horse.
  3. How to evaluate the basics of saddle fit and adjustment on the road.

  5. How to equip yourself for life on the road with gear that will keep you alive!

  7. An understanding of the harsh realities of life on the road.
  8. But most importantly, participants will learn that if we can do this and grow to love every aspect of our lives… then they can too.
Course Structure: In each part we will cover an aspect of life on the road applicable to the unique challenges people will face. This course was no small undertaking to put together, and comprises the knowledge drawn from more nights sleeping rough with one eye open for prairie pirates and wolves than its authors care to count. Luísa and Pete are excited to offer it for $500USD, and will happily offer support to anyone that reaches out when planning their own adventures via their website www.beprofessinoallookcool.com
